All of my drivers are updated, and the problem never happened until I installed VS 11+ on the same PC that housed Pinnacle Studio.

The picture looked fine, but the sound had loud static and interference that I could not pinpoint how to get rid of. The problem I had was that I used the Pinnacle Dazzle Platinum device before, but I hated their Studio software, Once I bought VS 11+ and fell in love with it, I tried to capture from VHS using the Pinnacle software because VS 11+ wouldn't recognize the Dazzle device.
#DIAMOND VIDEO CAPTURE VC500 PROBLEMS UPDATE#
Well, I just invested $40 in the Diamond VC500 One Touch Video Capture Device from Amazon, so I'll give an update as soon as I get it. So it is also possible that the version of VS SE distributed with the VC500 is the only version that will work with it. Some hardware manufacturers tweak software like VS to work with their device, but they don't share the secret with the software maker.

Just because it comes bundled with an SE (Special Edition) of Video Studio does not, however, guarantee it. It could be that the VC500 will work with VS11/11.5+, but that will indeed require someone who captures with it using VS11/11.5+ to confirm it. Ken Berry wrote:Hopefully, someone who actually has a Diamond device will respond more specifically. It's just that I think the other programs do it better. I for instance use WinDV to capture from my DV cameras, and HDVSplit to capture my HDV, even though VS11/11.5+ can do both as well. Many of us here use various programs for different parts of the editing process.

However, the bottom line, if later versions will not in fact work with it, then if you are not using Vista (which versions of VS earlier than VS10 will not work properly with), you could capture using the earlier version and open the captured files in VS11+ for editing. Hopefully, someone who actually has a Diamond device will respond more specifically.
